Third graders play challenging word games

We had a busy day.  We started with our last hidden picture graph for Christmas.

We did some mind challenging word games.  We also read some from our read aloud, which is on the Sequoyah list.  It is called Dirt, and is a wonderful story.

We also worked with plurals again and rhyming.

We enjoyed the first grade program.  Nothing is sweeter that little ones at Christmas time.

Tomorrow is going to be a big day.

Third graders use world atlas to finish project

We had a productive day today!  We started by finishing our Continental Christmas Trees.  They needed the atlas for this.  I have a class set, but don't send them home.

In reading we finished Christmas in Camelot.  It is in the Magic Tree House series.  It was enjoyed.

We also finished our quad report.  It has four sections.

In math we worked on pages 61-62.

Despite absences, third graders have a full day of learning

We  had a great day today, except that we had six absent.  I hope not everyone was sick.

We started with a Jan Brett page.

We worked with synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, and listened to some more from our book, Christmas in Camelot. Tonight's reading assignment is to read chapters 7-8.

We also worked with plurals and reviewed some vowel sounds.

In math we practiced multiplying 2 X 1 digits.  We also had some practice subtracting larger numbers with regrouping.

In social studies we looked up countries that were written on ornaments to see what continents they were on.  We got to use the atlas for this.  This is our "Continental Christmas Tree."
Tomorrow a note will come home asking for $3 so that I can buy treats for our party on Friday.  I have a game with gifts already in place, but we will need treats.
