Third graders learn about action verbs

We had a great Tuesday.  We started with a math review and a multiplication puzzle.

We talked today about how we now lose points when something is late.  If an assignment isn't finished they may still take it home, but it must be returned the next school day. That isn't considered late.

We did some silent reading today.  We also worked with action verbs, which included reading a poem with several of them.  We had to find the action verbs in the poem.  We also divided a group of verbs into past and present tense.

We worked more with our magic addition cards.  They seemed to enjoy this.  And as I walked around the room, I heard some great vocabulary being used, as well and some great reasoning.  They worked in pairs for this.

They do have math homework tonight.  They have to choose numbers to make the sums given on each problem.

Have a great evening!
