Despite the yawns, learning has resumed in third grade

We had a great day back from the break. However, there was a lot of yawning going on!

We started with Wake Up Will Rogers in the cafeteria.  It launched our new book that we will read as a class.  This semester's book is Spring According to Humphrey.

In reading we read a poem about a leprechaun.  Then we answered questions and unscrambled given words from it.  They are enjoying poetry!  It makes me so happy!

We worked with commas, specifically commas in a series.  For example, "I bought eggs, lettuce, bread, and bologna at the store."

We also had time to work on Poetry Ringo.

In math we had a puzzle, but we had to do our addition with regrouping to figure out where each piece belonged.

The kids wanted to see a picture of me holding a fish.  So here it is.
