Third graders compare book and movie using Venn diagrams

We had a great day today!  

We compared the book and movie of Stone Fox.  It was a great lesson!  Then we made our own Venn diagrams and put all of the information on it.  When we first started using Venn diagrams, it was like pulling teeth to get them to offer information.  I had to pull it out of them by asking guided questions.  But today, everyone had at least one thing to contribute, and I couldn't write fast enough!  What a difference a few months make!  they have come so far.  I am very proud of them!

We combined math and spelling today.  Each letter had a monetary value. They wrote the word and its value.
