Class starts study of new author

We had a great start of a brand new week!  We got to change our fraction for all of us being at school and on time!  We have accomplished this 9 out of 32 days!

Some started with some silent reading, while others finished unfinished work.

We started an author study, using Kevin Henkes.  We read more than one of his books today.  This is a week long project.  Tonight's reading assignment is one of my favorites, Chrysanthemum.  We also went through the beginning, middle and end of the story, and discussed how the main character's emotions changed.  You can learn more about Kevin Henkes below:

Our spelling words are rocket, pocket, hold, told, often, grow, throne, so, sew, most, almost, both, coach, open, and also.  I didn't give the their list, as we ran out of time.  I will give them to them tomorrow.

We went to computers for math today.  We got on Istation for the biggest part of our time, then we went to Prodigy if we wanted.

We read more of our social studies paper and discussed state symbols.

Have a great week!
