We had a very productive day!
We started by making our spelling words out of Play-Doh.
We finished out Christmas in Camelot. They
loved the book. They were able to pick out the important parts and answer
questions that happened early in the book. Their improvement in these
skills are partly due to their academic improvement. But also because
they loved the story! How many of us read a book we don't
enjoy?
We did some vocabulary practice and review. We also
answered some questions on paper.
We made sentences using word pieces. We discussed how
letters make words, and words make sentences. They made several, then had
to write them correctly on a lined piece of paper. They only had to write
two.
In math we did a mixed practice page. We had some
questions that dealt with concepts we have already covered, and some we
haven't. We worked in groups of three, and I walked around to see how
each group solved uncovered problems. The discussions I heard were
great. They were on task and actually discussing multiple ways of finding
answers.
There are some important notes in the Wednesday
folders. Please go over them.
