Students design 'multiplication monsters'

We had a good day today.  We started by finishing our "Multiplication Monsters."

We rolled the dice yesterday for different body parts, such as arms, legs, eyes, and hair strips.  We had to multiply the 2 dice for each to come up with the number.  Our monsters have:
     2 x 2 arms
     3 x 5 strips of hair
     2 x 5 arms
     1 x 3 eyes
They are currently hanging in our room.

In reading we did a following directions activity.  We had to follow directions to draw a bear holding a heart. We also worked on our play.  Every person that has a speaking part should have brought his or her copy home to practice.

We made our spelling words out of Play-Doh.

We reviewed, and filled in, fact families for multiplication and division. We compared them to the fact families of addition and subtraction.  I kept stressing how the family members do not change!

Almost everyone had his or her behavior chart signed today!  Yay!  Once you get into the practice, it should be easier.

Notes came home about our Valentines' Day party.  It also includes a list of children in our class.  In case your child didn't get home with the list, here it is again.
