Class starts new book from the favorite 'Cranberry' series

Well, as you know by now we are going to go virtual until December 7. This is a precaution since we will all be around friends and family members over the holidays.

We are much more prepared, and we are trying to make it as easy as possible for you and your family!

Today we read Cranberry Thanksgiving. It has some of the same characters in the cranberry book we read in October. They are enjoying this series.  They brought it home with a reading note today.  Please return them tomorrow.

We also started our discussion on figurative language, focusing on similes today.  We have been using/finding onomatopoeia for weeks now, and they love finding examples in the books we read.  Figurative language is much easier to understand when examples are found and used, before worrying about the definitions.

We did a subtraction review page in math.  Tomorrow we will start lines and angles by adding information to our math notebooks.

We also started our writing notebooks today.  And one of the activities they will be asked to do is to write about anything they want on November 18, 19, 20 and 30th.  They will also need to write in them on December 1, 2, 3, and 4th.

The third grade teachers have already planned for Wednesday through Thursday of this week.  We have assigned work in Seesaw by day.

We also made "We are Thankful" wheels today.

Your child was also allowed to check out a few library books.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email or call.
