We worked with numbers that were ten more or ten less than a given number. The goal is to be able to do this mentally. We will also do 100 and 1,000 less/more than a number.
We worked more with compound sentences, but in a different way. We took run-on sentences and wrote them as a compound sentence.
We read a story from our series. Many said they had read it in second grade. I love that they remembered it. I also love that they remembered parts of it.
We continued working on acrostics. I was able to conference with several students. Some still didn't finish but were able to take them home to do so. The one they have is not the final (published) copy. The "sloppy copy" is part of the writing process.
