A full day of active learning activities for third graders


It was indeed a fabulous Friday in third grade!

We did another multiplication puzzle to get us started this morning.

We read in small groups today.  Take a look below:




We also did a snowman glyph.  As I have mentioned before, a glyph is a way to show information.  

We also did a book scavenger hunt as a group.  They had to find the things we were looking for and share with the class.  Then we decided if it was what we were looking for.  Some of the things on the list were a simile, a metaphor, and alliteration.  They are getting pretty good at the figurative language! We took our spelling test.

We worked more with time conversion.  Yesterday we dealt with times that were even amounts of hours.  Today we worked with minutes that had some left over.  For example 290 minutes is equal to 4 hours and 50 minutes.
