Third graders have a new favorite book

These days are flying by, but we are getting a lot accomplished.

We started with our crossword puzzle from social studies yesterday.  We didn't have time to finish it, so we saved it for morning work.

We did a comprehension check up in reading today.  We had several short passages and answered questions in multiple formats.  We also had a few minutes to work on our fluency folders.  Some have been good at working on them at home.  This is such good practice, and doesn't take very long at all!

We finished our book, Snow and Rose.  It is on the Sequoyah Award list.  It was so good!  I think it may be everyone's favorite so far!

In math we worked with time.  I got out my clock discs that  have times on them, but written in word form, on an analog clock, and on a digital clock.  They got into groups and matched the discs.  They enjoyed that.  We also did a few practice problems.

In social studies we started a quiz over our newspapers.  These came home as homework, as we ran out of time.  And tomorrow we will be doing science.

Have a great evening with your family!
