What a busy day! a new book, word problems, continents and oceans, and lots more

We had a marvelous Monday in third grade!

We started with a Wake-Up Will Rogers.

Then we started a new book.  We are reading Stone Fox this week.  Tonight's reading assignment is chapters 3 and 4.  So far we like this book.  I am excited, as I have never read this one.  It must have been run for $1 a copy in last year's Scholastic order, as I have a class set.  Check out this children's classic:

We also did a comprehension practice page about Alfred Nobel.  It was an interesting read.

We wrote our spelling words in a creative manner.  They were allowed to write them and make shapes, pictures, or any other way they could think of, using crayons, colored pencils. and/or markers.

We worked with multiple-step word problems in math.  We did a couple.  Then we had people tell us how they solved it.  What we found was that a problem has more than one way of being solved.

We answered some more questions about our continent and oceans map.

Book orders are due Wednesday.
