We had a great day, especially considering today is
Halloween and children were very excited!
We started with a review of odd/even numbers, and some
counting by fives practice this morning.
We spent a lot of time with genres today! We took old
book order forms I had, and cut out certain books. Then we labeled each
section of a large piece of paper with a different genre. Nonfiction
gave us no trouble. But when it came to fiction, we had a lot of
discussion. Because we had to decide if it was realistic fiction,
fantasy, science fiction, etc. They seemed to catch on pretty quickly,
once we reviewed the description of the different types
We also researched how to prepare apple seeds for planting.
It is difficult but we started the process. Of course, we enjoyed an
apple in order to get the seeds.
