Class reads a favorite Thanksgiving book

We had a great day today!  We started with some onomatopoeia practice.

Then we read our book, Cranberry Thanksgiving.  This is the first book in the series that I ever read.  I fell in love with the characters.

We did another scavenger hunt today.  But it was a little different than the last one. Each child had a sheet with 18 questions.  I placed numbered cards with short nonfiction passages.  In each passage was the answer to the question with the same number.  They had fun.  They chose to call it a game, rather than the actual reading practice that was going on!

We also worked more with singular and plural nouns.  We discussed some that are spelled the same whether they are singular or plural.  For example:
The five deer crossed the road.
We know that deer is plural in this sentence because it says there were 5 deer.

There is no spelling this week.

In math we reviewed number forms.

Today we were able to test our predictions we made Friday.  Some of the items surprised us when we put them in the pool.
