Third graders work on skills, like reading all the choices on a multiple choice test, and doing mental math.

 

We started our morning with the fundraiser kickoff.  The children were very excited.

In reading we took our weekly test.  We read the entire thing out loud and together (chorally). We also read all of the choices together.  I am trying to teach them certain skills that will help them.  One is reading ALL of the choices in a multiple choice question.

In math we continued to work with mental math. This new math is presenting things in a whole new way.  We are learning together.  

We took our spelling test today.

We also finished our read aloud today.  Ask your child to retell the story to you.  Encourage them not to do it word for word, but just by the important moments in the story.  This is a difficult skill, but telling it to you will help them.  

Notes came home today.  Our secret word is "mustard."
