Class studies information related to February holidays

We had a great day today! We started with Morning Wake-Up.  Then we returned to the room, and wrote in our writers' notebooks.

In reading we read two books about Abe Lincoln.  (One is their reading assignment tonight.) Then we did a fact sort that included Abe Lincoln, George Washington, Groundhog's Day, and Valentine's Day.  There were three facts about each one.  They had to choose where to glue them.  Since we only read about Abe Lincoln, we had to do some deductive reasoning.

In math we went to computer lab today and worked on our math skills, including the in and out boxes that seem to give them trouble.

In social studies we revisited the three branches of government, and then decided which branch given offices were a part of.

Don't forget parent-teacher conferences this week.
