We had a great day in third grade! We started with
some more place value practice. This activity/lesson lasted throughout
the day as it was more complicated than the others we have done. We all
finished it today, as well as checked it. It should have come home with
your child today.
Assignment completion was one of our daily goals, as many
are not finishing/turning in their work. Some seem to think turning in
work is optional. I am happy to say we all finished the above lesson.
We read a lot together today. One thing we read was
our social studies newspapers. These newspapers are amazing. I
think you will enjoy them when your child brings them home. I have
learned a lot by using these in past years.
Today we took a brain break by playing some new games I
bought at Barnes and Noble. They were math/reading/logic games.
Children learn a lot by playing games, besides academics. They learn how
to take turns, win well, lose well, and to get along with others, just to
mention a few.
