From onomatopoeia to "super sentences': third graders have a great day of learning

We had a great day today, starting with a direction-following practice page.

We worked more with figurative language, focusing on onomatopoeia and personification, and revisiting similes.  They are getting pretty good at figuring these out.

We also wrote a super sentence.e  We started with "The dog ran." It is a perfect, but boring, sentence.  So we made columns with other choices.  One column was "What Kind" (adjectives), another was "Who or What?" (subject), another was "did what?" (verbs), and then we had a "When" and "Where" column.  They had to choose a word or phrase from each to come up with a super sentence.

We also got some Istation time this afternoon.  We worked on reading, math, and a little bit of Prodigy.

I hope everyone has a great evening!
